Guerrero Amethyst specimens are among the most valueable in the world and for good reason. Not only are there very few top quality pieces on the market, but they're immediately identifyable by their stunning forms and mix of purple and white. This specimens is absolutely exquisite and in our opinion the most aesthetic and beautiful on on the market today. The provenance of this piece goes all the way back to the Harold M. Michel Collection, and he acquired it from Jim Vacek on May 18th of 1987 which means the specimen itself is even older than that. So, this is an old piece that has remained in spectacular condition over the years. The entire specimen is perfect except for one small spot on the back where a small crystal once broke off at the base. The existing crystals in the cluster have perfect terminations and no repairs.
This Guerrero Amethyst is unique in a few ways. For starters it is associated with some smaller white quartz crystals, and they're all on matrix. Most Guerrero's are not on matrix, and matrix specimens are quite rare. Secondly, the amethyst crystals themselves have some unusual white banding. Typically, the crystals will graduate from purple to white, but this onehas some very pretty horizontal white patterning that really adds a touch of elegance and uniqueness to this one.
This specimen comes with all of the provenance paperwork, and a labeled acrylic display base.
