The color in this image is exactly how it really appears. We shoot all of our mineral photographs using an X-Rite ColorChecker calibration card which means the colors are 100% accurate. We do not fiddle with the saturation or hue at all, so you can be assured that this is how it really appears (assuming your monitor's color isn't completely out of whack).
Alpine fluorite is the most valuable in the world, and the red and pink varieties are at the top of the list. Most specimens are a pale, pinker color, but this one is more red than pink. The color is excellent, and the fluorite coverage is outstanding! It was difficult to decide on what angle to mount this specimen because it looks so good from so many sides.
The condition is also quite nice with no damage to the fluorite. There is a light dusting of chlorite on some of the small crystals on the backside, but have to look pretty close to notice. This is a top quality specimen from Mont Blanc!
The specimen comes with a custom Sunnywood acrylic display base that we had engraved afterwards.
