We have been wanting one of these for a very long time, and we considered keeping this for our personal collection. This unusual aragonite specimen from Austria is commonly referred to as Cave Pearls or sometimes Bird's Nest aragonite. These form in caves and mines where a thin layer of white aragonite covers the matrix material and there is a natural indentation where matter can collect. The "pearls" start with something small like a grain of sand and then accumulate aragonite to form these bean-like pebbles. Most of the pearls / pebbles are loose, but some are fused to the aragonite later of the surface layer. It's a very unusual and interesting type of aragonite specimen.

This specimen comes with a custom display base.
