From: Cave-in-Rock, Illinois, USA
Size: 7.2 x 6.1 x 3.4cm
Here is an exceptionally attractive purple fluorite mineral specimen from Cave-in-Rock, Illinois! What makes it unique are the small, yellow barite balls scattered around the fluorite crystals. The fluorite itself is a grape-colored conglomeration of over a dozen cubes. Many of the cubes show a dark plum colored core with the lighter grape colored outer zone, but the overall appearance is a deep purple color. The bright barite balls have great contrast against the dark fluorite, and the balls measure around 4-5mm. The condition is excellent with no significant damage anywhere.
This specimen comes from the Shirley Fiske collection, and even has its original label tag with information on the backside dating it to 1987 when it was originally purchased for $30 in Phoenix, AZ.
The specimen comes with a labeled acrylic display base.
