Calcite on Fluorite from Dachang Mine, China

This is a very unusual specimen from China, and we've never seen anything quite like it. It's orange calcite on purple fluorite, but the aesthetics and crystal growth is really unique. The fluorite is mostly clear fluorite, but it has a botryoida, blobby, shape to it with stepped growth patterns on the crystals. The purple is mainly the crevacies of the fluorite crystals, and the matrix in back of the specimen adds to the unusual appearance since you can see the matrix through the fluorite. The calcite crystal form in flowering clusters. Just a really unique piece!
