Fluorite on Quartz from China

When you think of Shangbao fluorite specimens you usually think of the glassy, botryoidal variety. This one, however, is from an old collection and the crystals are cubic. The glassy fluorite crystals form a ring around the end of the quartz crystal. The interior of the fluorite cubes has a fluffy-looking lavender color while the rest of them are a very glassy-clear pale blue. This is a very aesthetic and very unique specimen formerly of the Clara and Steve Smale collection. 

The specimen comes with a custom display base.
