These green "Kiwi" Calcites were mined several years ago and were immediately gobbled up by collectors and dealers. Not many of these specimens have ever made it to market, especially the larger, significant ones. This is one of the top 3 specimens found (according to the miners), and is arguably the most aesthetic.
The green is caused by Vanadium in the calcite which gives it this very unique, neon-green color. The crystals on this specimen are up to 1.2cm in size. There are some damaged crystals around the trimmed areas and top, but the crystals in the vug are beautifuly preserved. The matrix material is petrified wood.
The specimen comes with a custom display base.
