Large Pink Fluorite on Pyrite from Huanzala Mine, Peru

Wow! This is a killer find! Pink fluorites from the Huanzala Mine of this size are virtually impossible to find for sale these days. All of these specimens came from a single find in the fall of 1981, and most of what you'll see for sale are much smaller specimens - often just single crystals. This one, however, is a magnificent beast! The matrix is solid pyrite with a trace amount of galena. The face of it is covered with pink (with a typical peachy tone) fluorite. The fluorite crystals are very gemmy on the inside, so light reacts well with them. On the right side is a single octohedral crystal measuring 3.7cm on edge. The condition is excellent with no dings that we could find anywhere.
