The luster of both the spessartine garnets and the quartz is exceptional, and the photos just cannot capture it. The stones sparkle like gems! The other thing that makes this example special is the size of some of the garnets. The piece is speckeled with the usual smaller spessartine garnets, but along the top are several exceptionally large ones intergrown together. Once again the camera does a poor job of really showing how nice these garnets look in person. The largest garnet measures about 1.9cm in diameter! No damage, repairs or enhancements.
