This is one of those rare "Wow!" Illinois fluorites that is as good in person as it is in the photos! What we have here is a a cluster of beautiful, etched phantom fluorite cubes on a matrix of huge sphalerite crystals. The fluorite cubes themselves have a yellow core surrounded by a purple and blue-purple zones. The bottom of the fluorite cluster has been naturally etched out leaving a yellow stalk that is responsible for the incredible transmission of light through the specimen. Put this specimen on the top shelf of your display cabinet with a single light shining down on it and it enters the yellow fluorite causing the entire thing to light up!
The largest fluorite crystal measures 3cm wide, and the sphalerirte crystals are gigantic! The big sphalerite crystal on the front is 4.6cm long. The condition of this specimen is essentially perfect with no damage or repairs. The three fluorite cubes that make up the cluster have perfect edges and corners.
The specimen comes with a custom acrylic display base.
