Wow! This is the kind of specimen that you dream about finding, and what a find it is! Here we have a large piece of pink Manganocalcite with a 17cm long quartz crystal spiked right down the middle of it. This combo specimen was attached at both the base of the quartz and the calcite, but at some point in its life one end or the other detached and slightly shifted the two minerals, so there a small visible gap in places where there was movement. Nevertheless, both crystals remained connected and are solidly connected to each other. The tips of the manganocalcite have casts where other quartz crystals were once attached. We tested this under a UV light to be certain there were no repairs, and there is no significant damage other than where the crystals were detached from their hosts. This rare oddity is definitely an attention grabber!
Comes with a custom acrylic display base.
