This is a very special specimen that is truely one of a kind because it tells a story about the life of the specimen. On the right side you'll see a small fragment of amethyst. This appears to be the base where the large scepter amethsyt crystal broke off at some point in its life. The scepter then came to rest where it is now, and the orange calcite crystals continued to grow inside of the vug. Eventually the calcite grabbed ahold of the amethyst scepter, locking it into place as you see it today. So, as you can see this is not an ordinary Namibian amethyst specimen. It is a moment in time frozen forever.
The amethyst scepter itself is actually an extremely good one. It has a skeletal tip with a perfectly sharp termination, and has a glass-like luster. No damage except obviously where it broke off from the base a long, long time ago. The orange calcite is somewhat disc-shaped and looks a bit like scales the way they are grown together.
This amazing and unique specimen comes with a custom acrylic display base.
