Here is an interesting geologic oddity from Pakistan. There are two black tourmaline / schorl crystals, and one of them appears to be split down the middle by a quartz crystal growing into it. However, it's not clear if that's actually what's going on, or whether the tourmaline is actually just growing around the quartz. There's evidence to support both theories, but either way it's a marvelous piece to look at! The bottom schorl crystal is perfect with a very clean termination, and the quartz too is well-terminated. On the back of the specimen is some albite / cleavlandite including a cleavlandite ball.

This specimen comes with a labeled acrylic display base.
