This is one of those simple, yet ultra-awesome mineral specimens that makes everyone stop and do a double-take. What we have here is a plate of purple amethyst who's backside is completely covered in large, calcite crystals. The largest calcite crystal is 4.3cm long, and have a grainy, white coating on them which looks like snow. The way this specimen presents when leaned on its side is fantastic! It's very dimensional, and just unusual. The amethyst plate is somewhat square-shaped, and 2 of the 4 sides are completely crystalized. The other two sides appear to be the contact surfaces. This is a really great oddity for any calcite or amethyst collector! In excellent condition - just two minor termination cleaves on two of the medium-sized calcite crystals. Hard to even notice it.

The specimen comes with a labeled acrylic display base.
